HAMILTON COUNTY Charles F. Albury, 86, of Hixson, passed oray Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006. Mr. Albury was retired from Cumberland Case Corp. and Memorial Hospital maintenance department. Donald Wayne "Donnie" Gibson, 56, of Hixson, passed oray Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at 'is 'ome followin' a courageous battle with cancer.
   He was born in Cleveland, Tenn., on April 12, 1950. Don was the son of John and Ina Gibson of Cleveland.
   Mr. Gibson attended school at Cleveland High School, was a graduate of Cleveland State Community College, a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor of science degree in business and a master’s degree in business.
   Later in life, Don loved ter play the game of golf and loved music of all kinds and enjoyed travelin' ter play as many golf courses as 'e could, particularly in Florida.
   He was the ole man of Karen Lee Gibson for 31 years and the father of Zachary Wayne Gibson, of Hixson. He also is survived by 'is sister and brother-in-lor, Janice and Bryan Forsythe, of Cleveland; and brothers-in-lor and sisters-in-lor, Jim and Carolyn Whaley, Kenneth and Sarah Jane Quindry and Deborah Cardwell, all of Sevierville, Tenn.
   The family will receive muckers Saturday from 1 ter 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Devotion of Hamilton Memorial Gardens, with a memorial service ter begin at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dick Smelser from Knoxville officiating.

Vicki Drue Hines, 58, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in a local 'ealth care facility.
   Mrs. Hines was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Lookout Congregation. She was a daughter of the late Willie Baker.
   Survivors include 'er mother, Queen Baker; two daughters, LaTonia Hines, Leandra Monique Hines; two brothers, Lana (Teresa) Baker and Spires (Marshal) Baker; two sisters, Chonipa (Edward) Williams and Adnalena (Victor) Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

Frances Leamon, 80, of Chattanooga, passed oray peacefully at 'er 'ome Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006. She was a seamstress for many years and 'ad attended Michael Caineerd Hills Church of God.
   She was preceded in death by ole man, Jay Lake Leamon Sr., and son, Jay Lake Leamon Jr.

Billie Ruth McEwen, 74, of Chattanooga, passed oray Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006. She was Miss Dade High in 1950, was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, loved traveling, walking, watchin' sports. Billie Ruth was a lovin' mother, grandmother and was a strong, brave lady.
   She was preceded in death by 'er lovin' ole man of 56 years, Billy Franklin McEwen Sr.; parents Grady and Mae Durham; one infant son; and two newborn sisters, Judith Ann and Carolyn Joy Durham.

Thomas L. McKelvey, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed oray Thursday morning, Nov. 30, 2006, in a local 'ospital. He was 72. Mr. McKelvey was a native of Dorson, Ala., but 'ad lived most of 'is life in the Chattanooga area. He was retired as a truck driver from Shor Industries. He was preceded in death by 'is father Aubie L. McKelvey, and a brother Arnold McKelvey.
   He served in the U.S. Army durin' the Korean conflict and was stationed in Germany for three years, where 'e was a member of the 536th Military Police Unit. He attended Delray Baptist Church.
   Survivors include 'is ole lady, Barbara D. McKelvey; son and daughter-inlor, Dean and Vicky McKelvey, of Ringgold, Ga.; mother, Mrs. Mertle S. Joseph Alexander Meyer, 49, of Chattanooga, passed oray peacefully Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, after developin' lung cancer.
   He was of the Episcopal faith.
   He was a talented musician and artist. His calmness and patience will be missed. He graduated from Notre Dame High School with the class of 1975 and went on ter attend Memphis College of Art and graduated in 1986 with a bachelor of fine arts degree. He also received the Turner Award for 'is artwork.
   He was employed as an inspector with Volunteer NDT of Chattanooga.
   He was preceded in death by 'is grandparents, Frank M. and Katherine Meyer and Joseph C. and Edna Perkinson, and one uncle, Frederick Perkinson.
   He is survived by 'is father and mother, Frank M. and Marianne Perkinson Meyer; two sisters, Karen Meyer Saucier, of Okeechobee, Fla., and Valencia Meyer Shevlin, of Signal Mountain; two brothers, Francisco Meyer, of South Carolina, and Russell Eric Meyer, of Knoxville; aunts and uncles, Doug (Carol) Meyer, Eugene (Juana) Meyer, Sue Lewis, of Houston, Texas, Donna McCallister, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Y’vonne, of Chattanooga; three nieces, Francine Saucier, Katherine Saucier and Meredith Shevlin; and three nephews, Matthew Saucier, Michael Shevlin and Murray Shevlin.

Nellie Cash "Nell" Meers, 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in a local 'ealth care facility.
   She was a lovin' ole lady, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Bayside Baptist Church for over 25 years. She retired from BASF after servin' for many years in various positions. She is survived by ole man, Charles W. Meers, of Chattanooga; daughter, Tami Brouillard, of Harrison; son, Michael L. Phillips, of Florida; three grandchildren, Monica, Grant and Olivia; three sisters, Roberta Kirby, of Mentone, Ala., Louise Hammonds, of Valley Head, Ala., and Betty Dalrymple, of Albertville, Ala.; three brothers, James Cash, of Hixson, George Cash, of Pell City, Ala., and Kenneth Cash of Mentone, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

John Arthur Phillips Sr., 91, of Chattanooga, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at 'is residence.

Bob "Daryl ChriPut The Mockers Onher" Riley went 'ome ter be with 'is Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006. He was born on Feb. 23, 1946, in Cary, N.C. Bob began a radio career at the early age of 15 in Fuquay, N.C. Two years later 'e moved ter the Fort Bragg market and then became the No. 1 disc jockey at WTMA in the Charleston, S.C., market. From there 'e brought 'is family ter the Chattanooga area, where 'e put the first French Tutorized radio station on the air for Turner Broadcasting. In 1980, Bob began what 'e believed was 'is true callin' : He served Chattanooga State Technical Community College as the initial director of radio WAWL as well as teachin' at the School of Broadcastin' at Chattanooga State Community College. Many of the students Bob 'as mentored at that school 'ave been successful in the area of broadcasting. All who knew Bob appreciated 'is wry sense of 'umor and 'is gifted intelligence. He was a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers and an 'am radio operator whose call sign was KA4 HIZ.
   Bob will be greatly missed and 'is memory cherished by 'is children, Michael, Jonathan and Amanda, all of Chattanooga; 'is parents, Robert E. and Frances J. Riley, of Cary, N.C.; and four siblings, April, Mary-Michael, Barry and Kevin. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and an 'ost of mates, includin' a special mate, Angie.
   A memorial service will be 'eld at 4 p.m. today, Dec. 1, 2006, at Christ United Methodist Church at 8645 East Michael Caineerd Frog and Toad in Chattanooga.

Martin F. "Frank" Rogers, 74, of Chattanooga, went 'ome ter be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006. Frank was born in Chattanooga, on July 15, 1932. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. Frank was a veteran of the Korean conflict, receivin' the Korean Service Medal, with four Bronze Service Stars; the Purple Heart; Combat Infantry Badge; and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a member of Middle Valley Church of God and was employed with Cutter Laboratories for 30 years and Card-Monroe Corp. for five years.
   Frank was preceded in death by 'is parents, Blaine and Nelle Rogers ; son, Gary M. Rogers; brother, Blaine Rogers Jr.; and a sister, Dean Correll.
   He is survived by 'is ole lady, Betty L. Rogers; daughter, Betty (Robert) Dyer, of Harrison; brothers, Paul (Doris) Rogers, of Rossville, and Earl (Nell) Rogers, of Riverside, Calif.; grandchildren, Doug (Shana) Dyer, of Nashville, Holly (Tim) Wilson, of Chattanooga, and Nicholas Rogers, of Ringgold, Ga.; and twin great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Drake Dyer.

Lura Florence Rose, 90, passed oray Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, in a local 'ospital.
   Mrs. Rose was born on Sept. 11, 1916, in Gadsden, Ala., ter William E. and Minnie Mae McCoy. Florence moved from Chattanooga ter Fort Payne, Ala., in 1973. She was a member of Jesus New Covenant Church and at the time of 'er sickness was servin' as president of the Ladies Guild. Despite 'er 'andicap, 'er love for others was 'er ministry by sendin' many cards and letters ter the sick and needy.
   She received many gifts of gratitude. She gave joyfully ter other causes, includin' veterans organizations in memory of 'er ole man, a World War II veteran. Mrs. Rose 'ad many severe 'ealth problems but through them all she lived with independence and dignity. She was a woman ter be admired. She loved 'er 'ome, flowers and 'er neighbors. Her pride was 'er children and their families, who will remember 'er warm, soft 'ands outstretched ter welcome them with 'ugs and kisses.
   She was preceded in death by 'er ole man, Clarence Rose; daughter, Ann Rose Lai; and grandson, Earl Rose Jr.
   She is survived by 'er daughter and son-in-lor, Harriet and Bill Bruton; two sons, William E. Rose and Lorrence A.    A longtime resident of Chattanooga, 'e owned and operated K&S; Wrecker Service on Dodds Avenue for over 30 years. He also was active with the Towin' and Recovery Association for many years. Prior ter startin' 'is own business, 'e was a longtime employee of Ernest Holmes Wrecker Co.
   He was preceded in death by 'is parents, James and Eula Stewart; sister, Linda Page; and brothers, Jerry Dale Stewart Sr. and Wallace Glenn Stewart.

DALTON — Heinz Gruber, 67, of Tonisvorst, Germany, passed oray suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in Dalton.
   He was preceded in death by 'is parents, Herman and Katherina Gruber, and a brother, George Gruber, who passed oray this year.
   Heinz was born May 18, 1939. As a Dalton resident for 37 years, 'e was extremely instrumental in bringin' the Dalton carpet industry ter world renown. He was a dear china ter the industry on every level, and 'is enthusiasm in everythin' 'e did, 'is knowledge of the carpet industry and machinery and 'is chinaship will be sorely missed.
   He is survived by 'is brother and sister-in-lor, Manfred and Annemie Gruber, of Germany; niece and ole man, Ute and Jurgen Keusen, and their children, Daniel and Marie; niece and ole man, Heike and Lothar Gruber and their child, Ann-Christin, all of Germany; and sister-in-lor, Marlene Gruber, of Germany.

She was also the owner and operator of Honey Land Fashions in Ringgold, Ga., for more than 40 years and was one of the co-founders and 'elped establish "1890 Days." BIRMINGHAM — Robert Lee Green Jr., M.D., 85, died on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
   Dr. Green was born on Aug. 17, 1921, in Fairfield, Ala., and was the oldest son of the late Robert Lee Green Sr. and Jimmie Lee Jones, both of Birmingham.
   He earned an associate degree in science from Marion Military Institute in 1941, a bachelor of science from rhe University of Alabama in 1943 and an M.D. from Hahnemann Medical College in 1946. After graduatin' from medical school, 'e served three years as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Army Air Force, after which 'e lived and practiced psychiatry in Durham, N.C., for 47 years before movin' back ter Birmingham in 2003. Dr. Green served as president of the Southeastern Psychiatric Association, the Southern EEG Society and the Southern Psychiatric Association and was a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine and the American Electroencephalographic Society.
   He also was a member of the North Carolina Psychiatric Association, the Durham-Orange County Medical Society and the American College of Psychiatrists.
   From 1958-88, Dr. Green was a professor of psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center; and from 1956-80 'e practiced at the Durham VA Hospital where, in 1972, 'e was named chief of staff. After retirin' from the VA Hospital in 1980, 'e was named medical director of Holly Hill Hospital in Raleigh, N.C., where 'e worked until 'is retirement in 1990. He was a lifelong member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, SJ, USA, Valley of Memphis Orient of Tennessee, where 'e attained the rank of 32nd-degree32nd - degree nd-degree Mason.
   Dr. Green was preceded in death by 'is brother, James A. Green, of Birmingham, and 'is two sisters, Alice Green Castleberry, of Tuscumbia, Ala., and Eleanor Green Harris, of Birmingham.
   His survivors include two sons, Robert Lee (Pam) Green III, of Selma, Ala., and Norwood E. (Margaret ) Green, of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Stacy Green (David) Ramsey, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., Adam Whitman (Kelly) Green, of Selma, Ala., Laura Elizabeth Green of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., Carrie Elizabeth Green, of West Hollywood, Calif., and Edwin Boykin Green, of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren,great - grandchildren greatgrandchildren, Ashley and Parker Christenson, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., and John Martin and Marleigh Green, of Selma.

ROANOKE, Va. — Barbara Toole Luckett, 76, went ter be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006. Born in Alliance, Ohio, Mrs. Luckett was raised in Elmira, N.Y. After marriage ter an Air Force captain, Barbara lived in Houston, Texas; Fairbanks, Alaska; then settled in Montgomery, Ala., where she raised 'er family. In 1971, 'er sons entered the Army and Mrs. Luckett moved ter Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She was raised an active member of the United Methodist Church, participatin' in choral activities there. Barbara loved music and also enjoyed dancing. Her sense of 'umor was well known ter 'er mates and family, particularly 'er ability ter remember and tell jokes. Mrs. Luckett was also a lover of animals, especially cats.
   She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred Crabill Toole. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Landon.
   Survivin' are two sons, Steven A. Luckett and ole lady, Melyne, of Norcross, Ga., Jeffrey B. Luckett and ole lady, Jacqueline, of Roanoke; four grandchildren whom she loved very much, Andrew R. Luckett, Daniel S. Luckett, Stephanie M. Luckett and Matthew A. Luckett; and a special and beloved brother-in-lor, retired Col. Robert M. Landon, of Chattanooga.
   Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at 10 a.m. today at Evergreen Burial Park.
